With the encouragement of friends and family, I was able to get my tomato plants ( a record 6, thank you Becky and Susan!) and get the flowers I hope will make the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds happy. Still no action at the hummingbird feeder, but I’m not holding a grudge. Yet. Yo, hummy, I’m not putting sugar water out every week for my health, if you know what I’m sayin’.
Here are the tomatoes, properly distanced.
In the bottom right corner are the sweet potatoes. These are the legitimate plantings. More about the guerrilla plantings in future blogs. These things must be done carefully, as the Wicked Witch says.
And here are the flowers, which generally do ok, even when the squirrels start digging around.
So that’s all I got. When it’s a tough week, dig in the dirt.

Love it! I too am attempting tomato plants in Idaho. Hope it’s warm enough there. Tried it in AZ before. Had to water twice a day to avoid frying the poor plants in 100 degrees. Hopefully we will be successful 😍
